Yogesh Gianchandani advances MEMS sensors and microactuation, integrating microscale engineering with intelligent systems at TheSSML.

Professor Yogesh B. Gianchandani is a globally recognized leader in micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS), microsensing technologies, and integrated microactuation. As a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, with courtesy appointments in Applied Physics and Mechanical Engineering, he brings a deeply interdisciplinary approach to engineering innovation. He also serves as the Director of the Center for Wireless Integrated MicroSensing & Systems, where he leads pioneering research that bridges microfabrication, device physics, and real-world system integration.

Professor Gianchandani’s work focuses on the design and fabrication of microsensors, microactuators, and MEMS devices that operate across diverse domains—including inertial sensing, environmental monitoring, scanning microscopy, microfluidics, microoptics, and advanced biomedical instrumentation. His research explores how miniaturized systems can achieve exceptional sensitivity, efficiency, and functional versatility, enabling breakthroughs in autonomous devices, healthcare diagnostics, environmental sustainability, and next-generation electronics.

At TheSSML, Professor Gianchandani contributes essential expertise in how microscale systems intersect with machine learning, demonstrating how AI-driven modeling, data analytics, and intelligent control can accelerate the development and performance of MEMS technologies.
