Dr. Jay Prag

Jay Prag teaches economics, leads LINC Housing, and authors influential books and research.

Jay Prag brings decades of academic excellence and leadership to The Standard School of Machine Learning. He has been a faculty member at the Drucker School of Management since 1986 and has also taught at Harvey Mudd College, Pomona College, and Claremont McKenna College. In addition to his academic career, he serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for LINC Housing, a leading nonprofit dedicated to developing affordable housing in Long Beach.

An accomplished author, Jay has written Macroeconomic Essentials and Microeconomic Essentials (MIT Press), Financial Management for Executives (Cambridge Business Press), the forthcoming Covid University: Business Lessons from a Pandemic (World Scientific Press), as well as numerous book chapters and scholarly articles.

Throughout his distinguished career at The Claremont Colleges, Jay has received multiple teaching awards recognizing his exceptional commitment to student learning. At the Drucker School, he currently serves as the Coordinator of the PhD Program, Academic Director of the Master’s in Finance Program, and Academic Co-Director of the Arts Management Program. His previous leadership roles include Academic Director for the Executive MBA and Financial Engineering programs.

At TheSSML, Jay’s deep expertise in economics, finance, and academic program leadership strengthens the institution’s mission of delivering rigorous, interdisciplinary, and industry-relevant education.
